Cricket World XI is built to need as little of your data as possible. There are no accounts and no logins. Your team, your coins and your progress are saved on your own device, not on our servers.
We use privacy friendly analytics to understand how the game is played so we can improve it, tied only to a random ID, never your name.
When you buy coins, the payment is handled securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Cricket World XI ("we", "us") is an independent game. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any question about your data, email contact@cricworldxi.com and we will help.
The game saves your progress in your browser's local storage, on your own device. This stays with you, it is not an account on our servers and it is not linked to your name or email. It includes:
You can clear all of this at any time by clearing your browser data for this site. Please note that doing so, or switching device, will reset your coins and progress, because they live only on your device.
We use analytics to understand how the game is played, for example how many people start a game, draft a team or open the shop, so we can make it better. This is tied to the random player ID above, never to your name.
Our lawful basis for this is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the game.
When you buy coins, the payment is processed by Stripe, a global payment provider. You enter your card and email details on Stripe's own secure payment page. We never see or store your card details.
To process the payment we pass Stripe the coin pack you chose and your anonymous player ID. Stripe handles the card payment and, if email receipts are enabled, sends a receipt to the email address you provide. Stripe processes this information as a data controller in its own right under its privacy policy. Our lawful basis for processing your purchase is performing our contract with you.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We only share information with the providers that help us run the game: Stripe (payments), PostHog (analytics) and Vercel (hosting and analytics). Each only receives what it needs to do its job.
Our analytics data is hosted in the European Union. Stripe and Vercel may process some information outside the UK, including in the United States, in each case under the safeguards required by UK data protection law.
Information saved on your device stays there until you clear it. Analytics is kept in aggregate to track trends over time. Payment records held by Stripe are kept for as long as the law requires, for example for tax and accounting.
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is used. To exercise any of these, email contact@cricworldxi.com.
Because the game holds no account and no name, we often cannot identify which device data belongs to a particular person. Your clearest route to your own data is your Stripe payment record (your card statement and Stripe receipt) and your browser, which you control directly. If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Cricket World XI is not intended for young children. Coin purchases should only be made by an adult, or with the permission of the person who pays the bill.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
